Why do you want that for? Why can’t you have a normal pet? That’s an evil animal and it will harm you. These are some of the words I heard when I was growing up. But they don’t know the part snakes play in the environment. I was a second grader kid on a bus going to a field trip to an exotic farm. We got their and saw many exotic animals but I wasn’t surprised by the animals. Until the last moment when I saw the owner pull out from a box a "Big Yellow Snake" at that moment I didn’t have any knowledge about exotic snakes. But I was happy and I even took a picture with that "Big Yellow Snake". After that moment my life changed. I got home and started doing my home worked and found out that "Big Yellow Snake" was a Burmese python that was one of the biggest snakes in the world. The Burmese pythons grow to be 20 feet plus and they weight from 150 to 300 pounds. They are native to Asia. But have become a command pet in the U.S. Burmese Pythons are one of the most beautiful snakes. The normal phase or the normal colored is brown but in the 80's the first albino Burmese python was found. It was a wild caught. That was caught and imported to the U.S.A. This first albino Burmese was sold for 75,000 dollars. But if look at it now the price is 150,000 dollars. This albino Burmese was breed to normal Burmese. Since the albino is a recessive gen. You have to breed to a normal and breed it again to the normal with the albino genes and you will get them albino Burmese pythons. They become popular in the 80's. There price was reduces to 250 and then to 150 and at the worst 80. This in today’s market the price for a snake this big is very low. But all these new reptile owners went to the pet store and saw this beautiful little albino snake at a good deal. They thought I was going to be easy. The pet stores don’t always say the true about the background of the animal you buy from them. The only thing they care is the money. You get this snake that’s two feet long and you take it home you feed it adult mice but within a year that not a two feet snake but an eight foot snake eating rabbits which are like 30 dollars at the pet store. The ten gallon tank can’t house the snake you have to build or buy one which that’s not cheap. And that’s a big problem for new owners. The Everglades filled with Burmese pythons. Big evil monsters taking over Florida. That’s on the news but the thing is that’s just a fact. The studies done in a place in Florida proves that the Burmese Pythons can’t survive the cold weather. And how did this happen the unprepared owners that bought a small two feet snake. Turns out it not what they wanted. The zoo already had snakes they will not take your unwanted pet. What you option now to release it to the wild. And where is a big park that looks like home Asia. Unfortunately Everglades in Florida is the answer. We get this snake that is set free in a national park. Where other pythons are let free and they find each other in spring when it’s breeding seasons. The female Burmese pythons can lie from 25 to 100 eggs in one clutch how many snakes are released we don’t have an exacted number. The Burmese pythons feed on anything they can get around it. They even are eating caiman’s from the everglades. But the factor is if the everglades are fully with pythons. When the government seats a price of 2,500 for the biggest python killed. Why didn’t the hunters find Burmese pythons in the Everglades? If the place was cover with pythons why did it take them weeks to find 3 Burmese pythons that where not that big as the news said they were? The pythons play a big part in the environment. Which in the Everglades it’s has become more than an issue more than solution. In Asia they eat deer and other pray animals, which they help clean the wild from the sick animals, and help control the population of wild life. But in the everglades they are not helping but eating the animals that are native to Florida. But this is a problem that we can’t solve without the help of the government and pet stores. The care for this snake its simple but you don’t do your homework you’re in trouble. The size of the enclosure should be large enough for the snake to have movement, yet small enough to permit accurate temperature and have control over the python. . Burmese pythons are terrestrial snakes that spend most of their time on the ground, floor space should be considered than the height of the cage. A baby Burmese can be housed in a 10-gallon aquarium. Larger individuals will need more space, of course. They will need floor space measuring at least 4 feet by 8 feet. The cage should also have a door that allows easy access and that can be closed securely. A glass or Plexiglas window for viewing is important, as well. Some ventilation is desirable, although not as much as one might initially think. Wood, plastic and glass are all acceptable materials for cage construction. Burmese Python Substrate should be something easy to clean. Newspaper and aspen are the first option that comes in mind. Burmese Python Lighting and Temperature Burmese pythons prefer temperatures in the mid-80s Fahrenheit. Slightly cooler temperatures are allowable at night. Indeed, cooler night temperatures are essential to breeding Burmese pythons, should you desire to eventually undertake this endeavor. Because Burmese pythons require temperatures above what we consider comfortable in our homes, it is necessary to raise the temperature of the enclosure with a supplemental heat source. This heat can be provided in several ways. I prefer to use a heat pad or heat tape underneath the enclosure. Heat pads or under tank heaters are available in many pet shops that stock reptile supplies. They provide safe, even heating for smaller enclosures. Heat tape is also available and serves the same purpose, although it allows more flexibility in heating larger areas more economically. Various types of heat bulbs are readily available and are effective, as well. The water is an important thing. They need a big water bowl that can get in. then they shed their skin so you won’t have problems later. It’s a bad thing for the snake to have skin parts left not good for their health. When feeding time comes Burmese start with adult mice. And as they grow out they will start going from rats. That would be wean rats to all the way to XXL rats. Which it’s the first option when they get full grown? But most owners recommend guinea pigs as an option to replace rats. But rabbits and chickens can be feed as well. Feeding should be every week but when they get full grown every two weeks or month depending on the size of the pray item. And the size of the cage they are being housed at. Due to the snake not having excuses it takes it longer to digest. But if the snake it taken out the cage you can feed it once or twice a month. It’s always advice to feed frozen. But if you have a picky snake you have to feed life. Hiding spot its and important thing to have in mind. Helps reduce the stress on the snakes. Knowing it has a place where it’s dark and not bather. Even if you have a big snake put inside the cage a big hide. You can make your own or get them offline. When it comes to this part handling there are many factors that come in mind. You have to handle this animal like any other with respect and care. It’s not a dog that you put on a leash and take him out for a walk. When you have a Burmese python that’s full grown you never want to take it out by yourself. This is the golden rule for herpers. Have in mind this animal will not allow you to put a leash and take it out for a walk. It’s an animal that will go where it wants to and nothing is going to stop it from going. You need somebody with you when you feed, clean or take it out. Due to their size we are no match for them. So always respect this animal for the safety of your life. So don’t try to handle this animal by yourself taking the risk of ending hurt even if the animal is puppy tame. Even the nicest human has there bad days this happens to animals too. “Two kids killed by boa constrictor” Burmese pythons are not boas they are pythons first thing the news got wrong. Okay this happen in Canada 08/6/13. There are two stories on this event which none of them make sense to public. The apartments are beside the pet store that that the rock python escaped from. We got a 200 pound snake get out but the owner clams that the cage was locked. And this never happen before and the shop has been there for so many years. First thing that doesn’t go with the story. We have this rock python get out the shop and clime this walls that are at 180 degrees. How can a snake clime with building mystery number 2. And the snakes get inside the apartments from a hole on the roof. You live there but couldn’t fix the hole. And that snake falls from the sky without waking anybody up in the morning. Mystery number 3 which that are hard to believe. And kills two kids without one of them screaming or calling for help well them over a friend’s house. Okay the next story the rock python was the pet of the owner of the apartment. And that snakes gets out. Knowing you got a big snake why do you bring kids over to sleep without you sleeping with them. That story it’s just too hard to believe there are many more stores. This story takes place in Florida. A family had a pet Burmese python sharing the same room as their kids. That’s the worst mistake you can take. It’s a big animal that an take down a full grown pig. It won’t have any problems taking down a kid. Well the mom took one kid to the bus stop when she gets back and calls her other child. The kid never answered back so the mom walks up to the room. When she opens the door the Burmese has eaten the child. The mom calls the police. If this was your fault for being an unresponsable owner. You shouldn’t have big animals regardless of the animals. If you have kids no matter their ages. Knowing that animal can take you down a child is no opponent for them. So this happens not due to the reptiles fault but due to their owners that don’t know what they are getting them self in when they get Burmese pythons. The solution to this program I found that would work regardless of the place time and weather conditions. A microchip but not the normal kind you find for cats and dogs. But a new microchip like the one biologist and zoologist used to track their animals in the wild. But this is a new kind a design I have come up with. Using technology as our best friend. Being able solve mystery’s that humans cant in a couple of minutes. I came with this solution the day I saw the news about Burmese pythons in the everglades, and the accidents happing with loose Burmese pythons killing humans without people knowing where that snake came from. Well this problem solution is names “reptimap” being the first of its kind for reptiles. Can be placed to any reptile being the size of rice. Well with the help of the pet stores and reptile breeders. This microchip can be read with a scanner. But this is not like the rest of the microchips in the market. This microchip has a price of only 20 dollars. REPTIMAPS it’s not like the rest of the microchips out there. When you buy a reptile from a pet store or local breeder. You will have to get the animal microchip. Any exotic veterinarian can do in a couple of minutes with no problem. You don’t have to worry about the microchip moving around your exotic friend’s body. Its 100% safe it won’t do any harm to your pet. Like the normal microchips do and form cancer to the animals using the microchip. This microchip is put in the reptile not only with its individual ID number but with the place date and name address of its new owner. And when you sale or trade the reptile the information should be updated in the microchip. This updating data will help the state and the animal. If this animal escapes or does harm to a human or the environment. So we can have an up to date record on the animal. Knowing if the owner released it or is taking proper care of the reptile. And this will help us solve any problems that can be caused by this reptile. Without blending the animal but its owner. This is the problem solver for all the accidents going around in the everglades and the world.
